Sweet Mash Pulled Pork Sliders

Serves 12 to 16 · Prep 20 min · Cook 10 to 12 hr

Ingredients

  • 8 to 9 lb bone-in pork shoulder (Boston butt)
  • 2 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1/2 cup BBQ Pitmasters Pecan Chicken & Pork Rub
  • 1 bottle Hard Truth Sweet Mash Bourbon BBQ Sauce
  • Slider buns and coleslaw

Method

  1. Coat the pork with mustard and season heavily with the Pecan rub. Refrigerate overnight if you have time.
  2. Smoke at 250°F until the bark is set and the pork reaches about 165°F, 5 to 6 hours.
  3. Wrap in foil or butcher paper and continue to 203°F, when a probe slides in like butter, another 3 to 5 hours. Rest, wrapped, for 1 hour.
  4. Pull the meat, discarding the bone and excess fat. Toss with 1 cup Sweet Mash sauce and pile onto buns with slaw and more sauce.

Sweet Mash Bourbon Baked Beans

Serves 8 to 10 · Prep 15 min · Cook 1.5 to 2 hr

Ingredients

  • 6 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 3 cans (15 oz each) pork and beans
  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained
  • 1 cup Hard Truth Sweet Mash Bourbon BBQ Sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 tsp Maple Bourbon Rub

Method

  1. Heat the oven to 325°F (or run your smoker at 275°F). Cook the bacon in an oven-safe pot until crisp.
  2. Add the onion and pepper and cook 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the beans, Sweet Mash, brown sugar, mustard and rub.
  4. Bake uncovered 1.5 to 2 hours, stirring once, until thick and bubbling. Rest 10 minutes before serving.
